Frequently Asked Questions

How does AirPeak calculate my personal Respiratory Risk Score?
AirPeak combines official MeteoSwiss pollen grain counts (weighted by your selected allergen triggers and personal sensitivity score) with NABEL air pollution indicators (Ozone, NO₂, PM10, PM2.5). Pollen accounts for up to 70% of the score while air pollution accounts for 30%.
Where does the pollen and air quality data originate?
Pollen data is fetched directly from the MeteoSwiss automated monitoring network via federal STAC APIs. Air quality values are sourced from the Swiss Federal Office for the Environment (FOEN/BAFU) NABEL network stations.
Why does a location say "modeled" instead of measured?
Pollen measuring stations are situated at specific reference locations across Switzerland. For higher elevations or areas between stations, AirPeak uses Swisstopo altitude models to estimate concentrations based on the nearest measurement station.
Is my medical or symptom diary data sent to external servers?
No. AirPeak Switzerland operates on a zero-tracking model. Your symptom diary, allergen triggers, and medication logs are stored exclusively on your device (or in your personal iCloud sync if enabled).
How do I add AirPeak widgets to my iOS Home Screen?
Touch and hold an empty area on your iOS Home Screen until the apps jiggle. Tap the "+" button in the top corner, search for "AirPeak", select your preferred widget size (Small, Medium, or Large), and tap "Add Widget".
How can I export my symptom logs?
Open AirPeak Switzerland, navigate to Settings > Data Export, and select your preferred export format (JSON or CSV). You can share or save your report directly to your files or physician.

Quick Troubleshooting Steps

  • Data Not Refreshing: Ensure your device has an active Wi-Fi or Cellular network connection. MeteoSwiss updates station feeds hourly.
  • Location Services: If nearest station detection is disabled, verify that Location Permissions are set to "While Using the App" under iOS Settings > AirPeak > Location.
  • Widget Not Updating: Try removing and re-adding the widget to refresh WidgetKit background execution tokens.
