AirPeak Switzerland is designed with privacy at its core. Your allergy triggers, health logs, and location data stay on your device.
1. Privacy Philosophy: Nothing Leaves Your Phone
AirPeak Switzerland is built to empower allergy sufferers and outdoor athletes with real-time Swiss pollen and air quality insights without sacrificing personal privacy. We believe health data should remain confidential and secure.
Core Guarantee: AirPeak Switzerland does not maintain external analytics servers, user tracking databases, or cloud profile databases. Your personal data is never sold, shared, or harvested for advertising.
2. Information Processed On-Device
To provide personalized respiratory risk scores and station recommendations, AirPeak Switzerland handles the following data on your device:
- Location Data: When enabled, your device’s GPS coordinates are used exclusively on your device to pinpoint the nearest MeteoSwiss pollen monitoring station and NABEL air quality monitoring station. Coordinates are not sent to any central AirPeak server.
- Allergy & Trigger Profile: Selected pollen allergens (e.g. Birch, Grass, Alder, Hazel), personal sensitivity level, and custom score weightings are stored in local iOS storage (
UserDefaults/SwiftData). - Symptom Diary & Health Logs: Logged symptom severity ratings, notes, and medication usage stay on your device or in your personal private iCloud backup if enabled.
3. Swiss Federal & External Data Services
AirPeak Switzerland retrieves public environmental measurement feeds directly from official Swiss federal infrastructure endpoints:
- MeteoSwiss STAC API: Hourly automatic pollen counts.
- FOEN / BAFU NABEL: Official air quality measurements (Ozone, NO₂, PM10, PM2.5).
- Swisstopo API: Elevation mapping for relief and station profiling.
- SBB Timetable API: Deep linking for public transport relief planning.
Requests to these public APIs contain standard network HTTP requests but carry no personal profile, identity token, or user health data.
4. Analytics, Notifications & Advertising
AirPeak Switzerland contains zero third-party advertising SDKs, zero cross-site trackers, and zero telemetry frameworks. Push notifications and Widget updates are scheduled locally on your iOS device.
5. Data Ownership, Export & Deletion
You maintain 100% control over your data. Through the app’s Settings > Data Export screen, you can export your symptom log history to JSON/CSV at any time or clear stored app data instantly. Uninstalling the app completely removes all locally stored data.
